My name is Christopher Columbus; I was born in Genoa, Italy. I am an Italian navigator. I am the oldest of five children. My father worked as a wool weaver when I was growing up. I helped him with the weaving but my dream was always to be a navigator.
I did not go to school often, but I learned to read and write, in Spanish. All of the geography books are written in Latin, so I have taught Latin to myself.
My goal right now is to get to India by sailing westward. There are many reasons why I want to do this. I would like to spread the word of Christ, find wealth for me and for Spain and I would also like to be famous.
I tried for 8 year to get this trip sponsored my Spain. They finally agreed to my plan 2 years ago and then I have finally set sail and am heading to India.
Dear C.
It seems that your people live differently than how we do here in Moga; we live my religion and family matters. I think that the way live is peaceful and creates a better environment to be around. It seems to me that you live your life by wealth and power, don’t get me wrong I think that these are both very good things in life but I’m don’t think its the most important thing. Maybe if you studied more about are way of life here in Moga you would understand what I mean.

Christopher Columbus,
Did you live in Genoa, Italy your whole life? I’ve always wanted to visit a place farther than where I am right now, but I’m not to sure if I want to leave anymore. Were your siblings all boys or girls or a mix of both? It must have been fun to grow up with a lot of siblings, then you could never be bored or lonely. Also you’d have someone to tak to. I am glad that Spain approved your trip to India…only if you actually landed there!
