About Me, Doli

Hello Readers, My name is Doli Kirae, I am 14 years of age. I live in a small village called Moga located on Guanahani Island. I live with my mother Tamayya who is 37 years of age, and I live with my father Ahiga who is 39 years of age.

I have short brown hair with green eyes, I myself am one of the few people in Moga that know how to read and write. The reason there is few people that know how to do this is because in Moga there isn’t any education, you must learn from your parents or learn for yourself. I don’t necessarily mind not being educated but I wonder what it would be like to know how to do more than read and write.

Usually here in Moga during the day most people help out around the village. We harvest the garden, prepare for feasts, and clean out the huts. The things that I really like doing on my spare time besides these things are helping my mother with her artwork, and cooking. The things that we eat on a daily basis are the things that the men bring home after a hunting trip, which are things like wild hog, birds, and rodents.

My life here in Moga is lovely, I’m so glad that I live here on this island because the beauties of it make it the best place to live.

Doli.

  1. Hello Doli.
I agree, Moga is the most beautiful place I’ve seen in all my life. My favourite spare time activities to do are boat tipping and cooking. I hate working in the garden, though. It’s my least favourite spare time activity. Our mother’s are really close in age, your mother is 37 and mine is 38! That’s amazing. I also know how to read and write and I’m glad I do, it makes living life a lot easier, that is why I’m going to teach Charisa how to read and write.
