Slavery is Upon Us.

Hello Everyone,

There is a little village, about 10 minutes away from Moga. Christopher Columbus, as you all know, has left some of his men on this village with orders and chores. They didn’t do the crucial labour though. Christopher thinks that it is due to the Natives and what they have been telling his men, about fear and he thinks that they steal food. I have a strong sense that slavery is going to come to us. Our village has been so peaceful for so long, I guess it was time for it to be disturbed. If slavery does come here, they will take men, woman, and children. CHILDREN!!!! Children shouldn’t have to work, they don’t know how to cook and they get distracted easily. They will not survive long in the slavery business.

I talked to Doli and both her and I are very scared for this to come. What happens if we get taken, we won’t be free ever again; we won’t get to live the life we wanted. We will die working for other people, not getting a break. The worst thing is, if we do something wrong, we will be whipped or killed. How could people just have the guts to do something like kill a person for a mistake? We are all equal, just different sizes, shapes, colours, and personalities. If we all looked the same and did the same things, how boring would the world be today? I am disappointed in Christopher. We gave him our trust and put our lives in his hands. Now he is going to take our lives and smash them, crush them. I just don’t understand how someone could do that to another person.

  1. Dear Jaci,

I knew that something was going to happen Jaci. You know when they mean children they mean us Jaci, us becoming slaves in Europe. Ugh we have to do something!

    Doli.

  2. To Doli,
I know that when they say children they mean us. Think about your Mom’s baby or my little sister. What are they going to do to them? We have to leave. If we do, they will find us, they have faster boats then us. There is no escape. We have to pray to ZEMI, Doli, pray. It’s the only way out. The only way. Pray that they don’t come for us, pray that they leave the Natives alone, pray, pray, pray.
    Jaci
