Sitting Ducks

Troubles have come to this island; slavery has been brought upon us. It hasn’t occurred yet but my father keeps watch whenever he can, he always knows when something is going to go wrong, which I guess is kind of a good thing because it keeps us safe.

My father has also said that Christopher Columbus’s men are only ten minutes away! I’m not really sure what to do with this information because the Europeans are much stronger than us, I just hope that whatever happens and whenever it happens everyone will be ok.

I’m very frightened for the village because there is nothing that we can do but be sitting ducks. I’m also very disappointed in Christopher Columbus because he said that he would never harm us Indians, and I don’t like a person that doesn’t keep a promise.

  1. Hello Doli.
I am very scared for slavery to come. I don’t want us or anyone in this village to get taken. Slavery is not good. If you make the tiniest mistake you will be whipped or killed! These Europeans must have no hearts. They don’t know how to live a good life and just leave everyone be. I wish they would have never ever found Moga or any other island on the Caribbean. I wish everything would just go back to normal and we wouldn’t have to worry about these inhuman people taking Natives into slavery. GET YOUR OWN PEOPLE TO DO SLAVERY!!!! NOT US!!!!!
    A very scared, shaky
