Dinner At the Achak’s Hut!

October 15, 1492

My men and I are very pleased with the way we’ve been treated here. As I have written before, we were invited to dinner.

Last night I was so pleased with the Achak family, if I hadn’t met them, some of my men and I might not have been fed! For dinner we had vegetables and fruits and fish. It was a colourful meal and I was so hungry by the time I got there I ate every bit. We had corn, and carrots and peas for vegetables and for fruits we had bananas and other things. The fish was schoolmasters again but they were still very good. Thank you Jaci and family for dinner!

Now I have some more news…me and my men are leaving San Salvador Island. It is a sad thing for some of us because we have made great valuable friendships. We’ve been having so much better of a time then we do back in
Spain and Portuguese.

I am very unhappy, yet excited to leave, therefore I will be making more valuable discoveries.

  1. Hello Christopher Columbus.
Thank you for coming to dinner at our hut last night, we had a great time and your stories and company were amazing! :) I’m sure the village will be very sad to see you and your men leaving the island. We have had good times together, but I guess all good things come to end, right? I hope that you don’t have any trouble discovering more land and riches. Good luck! :)

  2. Dear C.

It’s very good that you are getting to know the people of Moga, and it’s good that they are making you feel welcome. I hope that you continue to think posotive about this island because in my eyes it’s perfect.

  3. Jaci, Thank You for having me to dinner. And as I’ve said before it was Scruptious. Extremely Delicious. I’ve neve rhad anything like it to eat before.

You’re people’s stories were great. It’s very hard communicating when we don’t have the same language, but atleast you know english so it’s gettingf better. Also by the way yor culture tels stories with their arms and dancing. It’s beautiful.

I hope I continue to think postive too, and my men. But if it doesn’t stay the same bad things cn happen. But we won’t think about that now will we?
